We recently completed a front yard planting project at a home in Winchester, CA. The homeowner had a large empty space in the front of the house and wanted to add some plants to improve the way it looked. They decided on five tall bushes that grow upright and have the look of small trees.
We started by going over the area and deciding the best way to space out the trees so they would look even and have room to grow. Once the layout was marked, we began digging the holes. The dirt in the yard was dry and hard, so we made sure to dig deep enough to break up the soil and create space for the roots.
After digging, we added fresh planting soil to each hole. This new soil helps the trees settle in and grow better since it holds moisture and allows roots to spread. Once each tree was set in place, we packed the soil around them and made sure they were sitting straight and at the right depth.
We then gave the trees a deep watering to help them adjust to their new spot. To finish the job, we added decorative rock around the base of each tree. This gives the yard a clean look, helps the soil stay in place, and makes it easier to maintain since it reduces weed growth.
By the end of the day, the new trees gave the front yard structure and color. The space that was once bare now looked full and finished—just like the homeowner wanted. It’s a simple change that made a big difference.
